1SSB Memorial Service
Dear All
Due to last minute considerations the OC 1SSB, Lt Col Fanus Buys, decided to move the venue of the 1SSB 80th Celebrations, Memorial Service from the Unit Memorial Wall, as previously indicated, to the Hamilton War Cemetery, where some of our fallen members are laid to rest. The service will still start at 09h30 on Sunday, 05 May 2013, and guests are requested to be seated at 09h15 for 09h30. The dress code remains dress 1A for military guests and jacket and tie (ladies accordingly) for civilian and retired guests. The service will be followed by tea and refreshments at the cemetery. Parking and direction signs will be available at the venue. All are still welcome to attend.
Directions to the Hamilton War Cemetery are as follows:
a. Take Nelson Mandela Ave South East towards the Bloemfontein CBD.
b. Turn Right into Parfitt Ave.
c. Turn Left into Victoria Ave.
d. Continue to join President Ave (Victoria becomes President).
e. Turn Right into Church Str.
f. Turn Right into Monument Rd.
g. Continue to Join Memorial Rd (Monument becomes Memorial).
h. The cemetery is located on your left at -29.097354, -26.189373.
